Last November 15, I went with my sister and niece to watch the New York Rockettes show at Radio City Hall in NY City called the Christmas Spectacular Show. This year it is celebrating its 75th year. I am sure New Yorkers and many Americans around the country..and even the world- have heard of this group.
The day before, I was in our small group session and we were studying Ecclesiastes. And I learned that we have to work hard and honestly and then play-meaning enjoy while you can. And so it was just what I did. Anyhow, this was my first time to watch the Rockettes and the same for my sister and niece. Come to think of it: my sister has been here for some 20 years (my niece is 18) and they haven't watched it! I'm like- what have you been doing people? Me, I will watch a show even for just once in my life. And if the price is right, of course! As my lawyer-friend in the Philippines emailed me, I am in the greatest city in the world, so, I have to experience what it has to offer: musicals and stage shows, and other performances .
So, one October day after we went out for dinner for my niece's 18th b-day, I asked my niece if she wants to watch the Rockettes. "Yeah", she said..and of course the mother will have to go. So I told them I'll book the ticket. And luckily, the week after that, I got an email from Ticketmaster offering some promo tickets. So, I grabbed it and booked for three.
Nov. 15 was a rainy day but we had to go. No cancellation, no returns. That's the policy. When we got to the place, the line was long. We were told to go to another line for ticketholders already. We picked our ticket at Macy's Herald Square on the way and it was a good decision because we avoided getting into two lines. The line moved fast anyway and imagine my surprise when we finally got to our seats! I know we had orchestra seats but in the online seating chart I figured we were kind of in the back of the orchestra area. Imagine, we were three seats away from the stage -far right but anyway, it was close. And at that price, it was really a great bargain.
